I have a tunnel I bought for Sam. He mainly ignored it, unless I was playing with him. I moved it to the hallway, and Bailey decided that was a very cool place to sleep and play. Which means she spent the day in the tunnel, and not on the ledge above the stairwell that Sam loves.
So now, instead of claiming back his favourite spot on the ledge, Sam is not sneaking into the tunnel whenever Bailey leaves for a minute. Whenever I check on them, one or the other is staring into the tunnel, and the one inside is looking smug. I never knew cats could look smug. They do it very well.
I can just imagine Sam's thinking "just because I wasn't using it RIGHT NOW ALL THE TIME doesn't mean its not mine. and who said you could use it??" Just like a kid.
