Hello! it's been a while since I last posted here.
Anyway, I've been making felt toys for my cats and I was thinking of making pompoms for them, but I read that string, yarns, ribbons and any long thread is dangerous for cats.
I was wondering if pompoms will be dangerous since it's made of yarn although it's cut in short pieces.

The problem with strings and yarn is that if they get caught in a cat’s mouth, the cat often has no choice but to swallow it because it cannot dislodge it from its mouth. This can be very dangerous and even short strings can be fatal. I wouldn’t give anything made of yarn to my cat to play with to be on the safe side. Anything that can be potentially swallowed can be a hazard with cats.

The bits of yarn used to make pompoms can be pulled out and swallowed, and even if the cat manages to swallow them without choking they can cause blockages and inflammation in the bowels, vomitting, diarrhea, etc... Just not worth the risk.
