I have a 14 year old cat that has recently been to the vet for a thorough check up. All of the blood tests came back ok. However, she had a problem with fleas. We have since put her on Advantage. We thought this would help with her scratching, but it hasn't stopped it. The area in front of her ears have been scratched so much that they are scabby. She scratches, breaks open the scabs and starts to bleed. Is it possible that she has ear mites? What else could be causing her to scratch so much. She doesn't have this problem any other place on her body, just in front of her ears. Is it ok to put Neosporine on her head, it is pretty close to her eyes. Please help.
