Leo has had IBS since last fall, his weight got down to 5 lbs, and he was constantly hungry, along with having diarrhea. Hes been on steroids for two months now, has gained almost a lb., has no more diarrhea, and his insides feel normal and not hard, but he is constantly, constantly hungry. I read some posts on this site about what food to feed him, and put him on Hounds and Gato chicken, which he liked in the beginning, but hates now. I asked my vet if I could give him different flavors of the same brand, but she said no, so now I'm going to have to try to find something else. My question is for anyone else that has a cat with IBS, "Does your cat have to be on steroids for ever?" I would like to take Leo off the meds because of the side effects, and see how he does, especially being on better food, but my vet says he will probably have to be on them forever.
