Hi Everyone, so I recently took in a stray kitten. She has been to the vet and is in good health but is being treated for ear mites as of now. She also has infected anal glands and often has fluid oozing out of her butt. She's pooping formed and brown stools tho and eating well. I asked the vet about her anal glands and they told me it was mainly diet and to give her high fiber food (which I'm doing). Does anyone have any advice to help my kitten heal from this? I've also been expressing the anal glands too, as directed by my vet. I just feel really bad for her as I can tell its uncomfortable for her. Thanks!

Anal glands empty themselves normally during bowel movements if nothing is wrong. If there is an infection, continued expressing won't treat it, although I am not saying that you should not express them if those are your instructions. I agree that you might want another opinion from a doctor not in the same practice.
