I think Hades marked my couch It smells but I see no stain so it must be dry or something. He has never done this before, how can I get rid of the smell?
He wants to breed him when he gets older so that way we will always have part of hades. He's one of a kindOriginally Posted by Forensic
If he is not neutered he may continue to do this or do it more often. You may have to consider confining him to his own area if he does... May I ask why your husband wishes to breed him?
We bought some of the enzyme stuff and sprayed it on the couch yesterday today the smell is pretty much gone but we are gonna spray it again.Originally Posted by coaster
And with a coach, you're going to have to repeat the cleaning multiple times. The stuff that's soaked in continues to migrate to the surface.
Yup, he is one-of-a-kind, and if you breed him, you probably won't end up with a kitten like him. Your best bet if you want a similar cat is to breed his parents again (though this probably isn't possible). I can't see the spraying getting any better if he isn't neutered. I imagine it will likely get worse as he gets older and more socially mature.Originally Posted by ilovemyhades

Every cat is a one-of-kind. I think I know what you mean, but I can guarantee you won't get another cat just like Hades. You use the phrase to mean a very special cat, but the literal phrase applies equally. Unless you're dealing with pure-bred pedigreed cats, there are so many random combinations of genes that your chance of getting another Hades are pretty close to zero. You'll just be producing kittens that you'll then have to find homes for. And there are already plenty of kittens. Another litter is one more litter the world doesn't really need or want.Originally Posted by ilovemyhades

Couple of points before you judge members of this forum as "less than nice." First, this is a cat site. The members here have the welfare of all cats, not just their own cats, as their highest priorities. One of the most serious dangers to cats is overpopulation. We consider breeding plain old domestic cats as one of the highest forms of irresponsibility toward the welfare of the feline world. YOU brought up the subject of breeding and you did NOT state anywhere until the quoted post above that these were purebred cats; a legitimate and accepted reason for breeding. Therefore, I think that the responses you got when we had the picture of breeding a couple of DSH's or whatever were exceedingly mild and non-judgmental considering what such actions usually get. Furthermore, in reading over the responses, I see that every poster contributed to the discussion in a positive way, and you got a lot of good viewpoints and information here.Originally Posted by ilovemyhades

That all being said, IMO your response in the post above was less gracious and more judgmental than we deserve. I hope you'll stay around the forum; I'm sure you have much to contribute, and we'd like to hear the story play out, but for heaven's sakes, please give the benefit of the doubt until you know somethiing about these people.[/QUOT
Thank you we plan on staying on this forum. We(my husband and myself) have already learned alot from the members here and are not trying to judge anyone so if anyone felt that way we apologize. Someone asked if he was nuetered and we replied no because we would like to breed him then someone asked why. We explained the reason and from there everything else seemed to be about the breeding. Just like people don't want to be judged niether do we. Rather than responding to all the breeding comments and questions we should have initially stated he is a purebread we just didn't expect to have to defend our actions on wanting to breed. We thanked everone for responding to the original thread and still some felt the need to continue about the breeding. We don't mind responding to anyones questions as long as it doesn't turn into a debate. We are not here to argue we are here to learn. We will definitely give all the benifit of the doubt as long as we are given the same.
