Cat trying to bark?

It's nothing I'm worried about, just more curious about.

Whenever our dog Grayson barks at something he hears outside, Rhodey will "bark" along with him.  And he ONLY does this when Grayson barks.  It isn't his normal chirp or meow, it's a quick squeak (he's very squeaky) and mimics the dog.

Is he really trying to bark with the dog?  I wish I could catch it on video.

They do indeed and I have huge respect for anyone that does seem able to figure them out.  There is at least one video on YouTube of this behaviour, which I saw last year when my nephews were playing around showing me stuff.  Just web search for cat barking like a dog and you should find it. 

  Grayson sounds very cute with his squeaks and barks and I'd love to see / hear his little bark if you do capture it as a movie.
