This is my cat, a domestic black shorthair. She's 5 years old as of april 2022.
I have never owned a cat before this, I thought I disliked them even! I grew up in a strictly dog only household so I never expected to flip around and be a cat dude.
I rescued her last year on a complete whim. I had gone to the humane society just to pet a cat, because my therapist said it might cheer me up, and I was looking for something to do.
I walked into the cat area and looked at the first few, then I heard a loud chirping start. I had NEVER heard a cat chirp before this, so it blew my mind. And she was chirping at me. Succesfully gaining my attention, I got her out of the cage and she started climbing all over me and licking and loving on me. She's the most empathetic creature I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. According to the Humane society, she was a support animal for her previous owner, who had health complications which led to Sefi needing to be rehomed.
I feel like the luckiest person because of her. Never thought a cat would change my life, but here I am haha. I'm a fan.
