I just want to add that I believe there are many folks out there who would love to adopt a senior cat. My hubby and I have always said that, being seniors ourselves, when our current cats are gone, we would only adopt (or foster) very senior cats next time because we don't want them to outlive us. Right now, though, one of ours is a real bully, which keeps us from bringing any other living creature into the fold :sigh:

Yes, don't give up. I adopted my Casey at 13 and would do it again in a heartbeat. If you lived closer, I would certainly consider taking your ex-wife's cat. Are any of your friends/aquaintenances/neighbors willing to take him temporarily until you find a permanent home?
