Hi I wonder if anyone can help. My cat has always slept on my bed however recently I have noticed a change in behavior. Instead of lying on the bed and sleeping she will just stand and stare. Eventually she falls asleep on the bed just as she used to. Also I often wake up to her staring at me. She is a 15 year old female.

Cat Stares While I Am Going To Sleep

I have a 13 year old male that has started doing this recently. He will sit next to my pillow and stare at me. It reminds me of Snoopy doing his vulture pose from the comic strip. I don't know why he does it, maybe for attention because if I pet him for a little while he goes off to his bed to sleep. He's on steroids for IBD, maybe that has something to do with it.
I think they stare because they love our faces as much as we love theirs. Don’t you love to watch a sleeping cat?
