After Vet Visit Update:

1. Looks like we got a clean bill of health from the vet! Which is good news. On an unrelated note, Kimi did EXTREMELY well at this new vet - no hissing, spitting or scratching. We are hoping to switch vets because we're thinking it's Banfield that makes her catty (hah - I made a pun).

2. The vet told us even before we got the results back that she strongly believed it was behavioral and gave us several things to try. As of now, we have bought a second storage bin, Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract litter and a feliway difuser which we placed in the area she used to pee. We've also removed the baseboards from the area she had been peeing to deep clean carpet beneath it (it was SO gross...) and have blocked her old pee spaces off. Sadly, she's still peeing outside the litter box and in a new place near her old favorite. Granted, it's only been a few days and we still haven't fully cleaned the area, but this means we now have to make sure she's not peeing in other places around the house too.

3. As a last resort, the new vet told us we could always put Kimi on a anti-depressant medication that has been proven to reduce and eventually stop improper elimination. We're a little hesitant to try that, but if anyone has used meds to help and has some thoughts I'd love to hear them.
