My 18yo pussy has been having problems with this for some time now - when she's lying down, more often than not, she tends to shiver a bit. It's not constant shivering and it's definitely less vigorous than shivering when you're cold or such. Nonetheless, it happens more or less every time she tries to lay down in a position different than this pretzel-shape that cats do.
Sometimes you see these tiny "jumps" of the whole body, sometimes just the head but it looks as if it were annoying for her. Similar things happen when you hold it in a position like this: http://www.examiner.com/images/blog/EXID39608/images/a_lap_cat-5.JPG (yeah, I know, quite a cat!), namely they her rear paws tend to shake.
Nothing of this sort happens in any other circumstance - she runs like mad, jumps, fights, eats and urinates normally, isn't dejected or anything. The only situation this happens is when she's stationary and in a lying-down-like position.
What may that be? She's had a general check-up at the vet lately and nothing worrying was found, also she had blood works done cause she had a bit of a problem with her kidneys but also nothing wrong was found.
