Hello!
I have been feeding a homeless male black cat for around 10 years.
The cat cannot be held etc but keeps a minimum distance of 2 meters
or more.
Recently I discovered it has a seemingly serious skin issue - see pics.
Can anything be said about what the skin problem can be and how
serious it is? Cat otherwise seems to be physically OK from what I can
see.
(I have a little booklet about cat diseases from which pics seems to
agree with so called fur-eating lice "felicola subrostratus" but these on
the other hand according to veterinary web-sites are uncommon and
seldom seen on cats in Sweden.)
Possible treatment with pills etc should be OK by including it in food.
But any fur treatment seems to me to requiring trapping of cat and then
one could guess there is only one chance for that as cat is likely not to
forget it ... .
Best regards
