brought my cat to the vet 3 times because of this. DID bloodwork, urine test, x-ray because she was eating super well (my cat used to be a fatass and would finish her food in 3 mins no matter how much i gave her). Ur urine was at a higher level but she doesn't seem to have any UTIs because of her litter behavior, she is energized and everything. the vet said it either might be allergies or other skin diseases which I have to go see a specialist. However, she doesn't have any skin infections or anything- her paws were a bit infected but they healed after soaking them in solution. so I have no idea what's wrong with my baby- she loss a bit of weight too. Has everyone experienced this? should I go see the specialist even though I don't think it would be of help?

Have you tried changing her food, they can get bored if fed the same daily. Is she fed wet or dry?

Hi!, yeah I've tried all types of different food, dry, wet, soup, freeze dry. i mean she still eats, but just only a little bit and then comes back to it but never really finishes her meals. could it just be her being super picky?

It could well be. Does she eat enough each day, as she has lost a bit of weight I imagine the answer is no. Try some of these tricks.
If she has a favourite treat, either crush a few and sprinkle on top or mix in with the food.
Dribble a little tuna juice on top.
Some parmesan cheese grated on top
Feed by hand (last resort)
Feed off paper plates
Move feeding area to somewhere new
Feed smaller portions but more often (if you are able)
All these are just to break the habit she has developed for whatever reason.

How much do you offer her and how much does she eat, and how old is she?

Is your cat currently overweight? It’s possible that she’s trying to self-regulate to lose a bit, assuming she’s doing more than nibbling at the food you offer.

Did the vet check the teeth? Dental issues can be painful and a cat may be reluctant to eat. Many vets don't bother checking dental health :dunno:

Have you tried raw food? Raw tends to be more appealing than dry or wet. If you don’t want to spend the money on raw, you can try to give her pieces of raw chicken breast mixed in with her wet food. Do not feed dry food with raw as it could he dangerous since they digest at different ph’s. Hope this helps!

Sorry but I'm a little confused because you mentioned her urine is at a higher level. Even though she doesn't have a UTI there are other health concerns, e.g. kidneys, pancreas, etc. This could also be contributing to her lack of appetite.

Hi thank you all for the reply. She is 8 months and currently 7.2 lbs. She was 7.8 lbs before so she has lost some weight. The vet checked her teeth and they are completely normal. The vet did not say anything about her kidneys as well after the blood work and x-ray. she is quite skinny actually, a little bit underweight. She actually hates raw food ive been trying to get her on that diet for so long

If there is nothing wrong with the skin (dermatitis, itchy open wounds, balding, etc), I don't see how a skin issue would be the cause of the cat not eating :dunno: It sounds like your vet has no idea what is wrong and can't be bothered to find the cause of the issue. What kind of specialist did the vet say to go to? A veterinary dermatologist wouldn't be helpful at all if your cat has no skin issue. I'd seek out another vet, either a "regular" vet or an internal medicine vet, for a second opinion. Bring copies of your cat's medical records (all the blood work results, urine results, x rays, etc) for the new vet to review. I'd ask the new vet to double check the teeth as well. Lots of vets are unfamiliar with dental health and have no idea what dental issues look like.
