Hi all - yesterday Sasha got me really good, a pretty deep puncture with her claw on my finger. Today it's a bit swollen. I thought I had cleaned it up really well but I guess not. Does anyone have suggestions on how to treat scratches on the human? haha

thanks in advance

Usually with a scratch cleaning it with soap and water and then applying antibiotic ointment works. If it is a little bit swollen but not red or hot, you can try soaking the area in hot water or using hot compresses and then drying it and applying antibiotic ointment. If the area is red and swelling beyond the scratch site you need a visit to the doc ASAP for oral antibiotics.

After I get them I usually pour peroxide on it. But, since this was already done, I would soak in in warm Epsom salt water for about 15-20 minutes.

Like the others said, just keep it clean, maybe with some peroxide or saline and put antibiotic ointment on it.
