Cat Scared Of My New Kitten

i have just brought my new kitten home & my 12 month old kitten is terrified of him & wont come downstairs, he won’t eat unless I take it up to him.
Should I just leave him on his own to come around in his own time?
Any suggestions?

rubysmama already gave you the article I was going to give you. Just be patient, and don't rush things. It does take time. Some members have taken MONTHS to integrate two cats, but as young as both of yours are, it should go a bit faster.
