A man trying to rescue a cat from under a bush got a moth trapped in his ear.

Antony Larose, of Windsor, Berkshire, was in excruciating pain after the moth flew into his ear.

All Antony could hear was the beating of the moth's wings against his eardrum. It was eventually removed in hospital with tweezers.

"I've never been so scared - the noise was unimaginable," he told The Sun.

"All I knew was that something with wings was trapped inside my ear and was doing its best to get out."

Mr Larose's father-in-law tried to hose out the moth, the size of a 5p, but eventually took him to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough to get the moth removed.

Antony, 25, added: "If you think what a bee sounds like close to your ear, imagine a moth right by your eardrum. The sensation was just horrific."

Was the cat, in fact, eventually rescued? The news report doesn't say, one way or the other. Well, I hope the cat's all right.

As for the would-be rescuer, maybe he'll have bad dreams about angry moths — or bees.
