Cat request to be spoon fed

My 16 year old handsome boy been so used to be fed 4 times a day coz I used to work 10 minutes away from home. Now j got a new job and noticed that he Sometimes will not eat and then he will stare at me. And if I use a spoon to feed him then he will finish most part of his meal.
Just wondering if he is just trying to get my attention or if there is underlying problems.

I have a cat that will only be spoon fed, but we are deep into tests, because she lost nearly half of her body weight this past year. We think it's because she is nauseous due to IBD and as a result she doesn't want to eat. Keep an eye on his body weight, and if it drops I recommend getting him checked out.

Thanks. He did loose around a pound since last Nov. for an 11lb kitty, 1 lb is almost 1/10 of his weight. but he is eating well overall. He has been having some bowel issue lately, so we are taking him to the vet this Saturday.
