Hey all! My three year old cat has been puking up mucus once or twice a week for the past two weeks. Today she puked twice and the first time, she puked up a hairball with a yellow/orange liquid and then puked up yellow/orange liquid again about two hours later. I thought she might be puking up the mucus because of her hair ball, but this is the first time she's ever really done this.
I did change her food about two weeks ago, which I also think might be apart of the problem. I checked her gums and they're pink and wet, listened to her stomach and heard all the usual gurgling, and she's been eating and drinking fine. Her stomach does feel hotter than usual but it's not hot to the touch or hard. She does have allergies, but that's mostly just sneezing with no other symptoms.
If it helps, her biological brother (who lives with my friend) has sensitive stomach issues, but when he vomits he typically pukes up food. Freya has been puking up clear liquid or orange/yellow liquid.
She does seem a little more tired than usual. Should I be worried? I can probably take her to the vet as early tomorrow if they have an opening.
ETA: I ended up throwing away their food after reading some bad reviews (it was hills science diet). My younger cat isn't having issues, but just in case. I didn't have any rice, but I mixed some green beans, tuna, and some applaws chicken and rice together with some water and they seem to be just licking the sauce but I figure they'll start eating when they get hungry. We're getting them new food tomorrow -- oh boy as I'm typing this freya started chowing down with a gusto.
