Hi,
I’ve seen so much about this position for cats and I wanted to see if this looks normal? Thank you.
last week he did sound like he was coughing up a hairball and nothing came out. it happened 3 times within a week and has not happened since the 15th. i thought it was a hairball at first but now i’m not sureThat is the 'loaf' position, but with the head and neck extended like that it looks like he is having trouble breathing. Does he cough a lot? He could have asthma. an injection of a long lasting steroid may be asked about at your vets, if it works it would mean it most likely is astma or allergies. It wouldn't hurt!
This can be a sign of something wrong with the heart or lungs then, especially if he's still laying like that. I would go to the vet when you can. Try to get a video of it next time for your vet.last week he did sound like he was coughing up a hairball and nothing came out. it happened 3 times within a week and has not happened since the 15th. i thought it was a hairball at first but now i’m not sure

This is a good example of it. This cat had an infection and was then diagnosed with athsma. Jerry│Bambi│Bella│Kalen on Instagram: "Jerry has asthma, and I would never have known if I had not seen a video of a cat having an asthma attack. It looks similar to a cat trying to cough up a hairball. Jerry had been coughing for over a year 1-2 a week before I saw that video. I must stress that cats can cough once in awhile if they are sick, or season allergies, drinking or eating too fast. Coughing doesn't mean they have asthma. So keep a record of how often they are coughing, what they are doing before they started coughing. Take a video, and bring them to the vet if they are coughing frequently. Jerry was coughing once/twice a week. Hopefully I can do the same by spreading awareness! . . . . . . . . #felineasthma #felineasthmawarrior #asthmaticcat #asthma #asthmacatsofinstagram"
