I have two kittens who stay indoors, however a couple days ago one of them got out and was out for two days. We managed to find her and get her home but my other cat growls and hisses at her and won't go anywhere near her. Is this normal? and is there anything we can do to fix this?

Actually this is not unusual. Cats rely on smell very much, and when the cat came back smelling different from all of her outdoor adventures, it stressed out the other cat and she is treating her like an invader. What you can do is separate them and do gradual introductions as if she were a new cat you had brought home to help the other cat reacclimate. If you've never done gradual introductions before, this article explains the steps:

You can also try rubbing the scared cat all over with a clean cloth, and then rubbing that cloth all over the escaped cat to make her smell a bit more familiar.

How old are your kittens?  Are they spayed and neutered?  Some of the reaction you're seeing might be to hormonal changes.
