We noticed our cat was breathing heavy almost a month ago, and took her to the vet. They took her blood and took X-rays. The vet thought it might pneumonia, thyroid problems or cancer. The results all came back negative and the vet suggested we see a cardiologist. They thought it might be asthma and gave us steroids and antibiotics to give her. These don't seem to be helping her at all. We have tried giving her wet food but she directly after eating she starts breathing very heavy and just lays on her side by the food bowl. We have found running a hot shower (our bathroom is connected to our bedroom) and putting her up on the bed so she can breathe in the humidity seems to clear up her heavy breathing. Has anyone ever seen this before? Our cat momo is about ten years old and has always been skinny but has lost a lot of weight since this started.
