I had come home from work 5/3/2014 and was heading to bed, when my daughter spotted my cat, whom I had adopted 4 years ago, coming down and meowing like he was in pain, with sticky-like saliva hanging from his mouth. It has a very foul smell, and his tongue sticks out. He acts like he cannot swallow well and he has not eaten or had any water since I noticed this. I had to syringe him water, which he was unhappy with. I took him to the emergency vet last night and they gave him pain meds and an antibiotic to treat for calicivirus, but he still seems in pain and still not eating or drinking, his tongue is still sticking out and he is still salivating a bit, not stringy and hanging like yesterday..
Not sure if you can tell in the picture that was taken last night, but any opinions?
