Cat has a sprained leg and wont eat

My cat sprained his leg yesterday and had to go to the vet. The doctor gave him some medicine and set us home but now he wont eat. Its been 24 hours, and he just lays around not eating or drinking. Will he start eating tomorrow? When should I be worried?

He’s around 8 years old BTW

Call the vet today and ask for advice. Cats can't go more than 48 hours without eating. Try offering canned food, canned tuna, meat only baby food, treats, etc.
