Greetings and happy new year to you all here at TCS.

Would love opinions please:

Cats tend to "hold it" on the day the litterboxes are due a complete change and let fly as soon as new litter is down, we are used to this. The boxes are routinely scooped and kept in good order on non-change days.

Today one of the girls had a pretty big and dry looking bowel movement and we noticed a little tiny trace of blood on her anus.

She is bright-eyed, cool-eared and interested in her food and water (and is happily sticking her rear up in the air when we scritch her, the little hussy). Is it possible/likely that she had to strain a little? She drinks well and her tummy feels nice and soft.

Advice would be most gratefully received.

It does sound like she just strained a little too much. She may need more fluid in her diet though. Knowing what you feed her would be good

She mainly eats Purina brand dried food and always has and occasionally grazes on a litle wet when she is in the mood. Other types of food are on offer as there are three other magnificent ladies, but she always goes back to the Purina and has little interest in change.

We know that she drinks well as it is both observed, and she likes to splash and gets water all over her face.
