Cat Had One Kitten But Not The Others

last night about 1030 my cat had a kitten and it was dead. It’s now 1100 the next day and she still hasn’t had the rest. Her stomach is very hard and there is no movement. I’m quite worried but have also read that cats can start and stop labor. I’m curious if taking her to the vet would be a waste of money or not. She is walking around and eating and drinking, but she also wants to be as close to me or my husband as she possibly can. Please help.

Did the kitten seem to be full-term? Cats can miscarry one or a few kittens and then go on to carry the rest to term. Usually if she doesn't seem to be in distress you don't have to worry, but if anything seems off about her, younshould take her to the vet to make sure everything is fine.
