A couple of my cats have been getting really nasty hairballs. We have the hairball paste and usually when I give it I end up wearing most of it. Is there a specific food that anyone has had luck with at reducing hairballs?
I will be accused of telling untruths but here is the truth. Neither one of my cats has ever had a single hairball in the four years that we have had them, including the very longhaired cat who spends a lot of time grooming himself. Is it the food I feed them? I don't know but I will never change their food despite the negative comments I have seen about the food I feed them 24/7 (Iams Original). Alley never gets anything else simply because she is not interested in treats. Persi dines with me every night and loves chicken, hamburger and ice cream. And cheese, that's his favorite. Neither cat gets any supplements nor anything to prevent hairballs. I know this is very unusual and I do not have an answer as to why I have been so lucky. Good luck with solving your problem!Originally Posted by Britt0285

No untruths in that statement... RB Kandie did not have a hair ball for her first 15 years... Some cats do , some do notOriginally Posted by Persi & Alley

How much canned pumpkin? I am trying to pick a new food for my cats now. I have adult cats and kittens. I have just been feeding kitten wet food because my adult cats who are about 2 and 3 will not stay out of the kitten food! So far they did not like the science diet, but they did eat up the nutro natural choice kitten.
daily till it gets under control then a few times a weekOriginally Posted by Britt0285
Do you do a teaspoon every day or just when you start to realize they are having a hairball problem?
