Does anyone know what makes a cat strach at a door for? Like my one cat will strach at the door to my moms room when shes in there and he also does it when she's not...
None of my cats do this except Bakker started about a week ago because he wants to go outside. The other cats will sit at the door, Bobs looks at the door handle (hello its not going to open by itself!!) I tell Bakker to knock it off and don't give in otherwise he will be learning that the door scratching will be acceptable behavior.
It's probably just that he doesn't understand why he's allowed everywhere but that ONE ROOM. It's the kitty curiousity coming out in him. After a time of living without permission into that room, he'll stop scratching. Ours aren't allowed into the bathroom, and at first scratched to get in, but have since decided it's not worth their effort anymore to complain about it. The only other rooms we close are our bedroom doors when we're sleeping, and they've even gotten used to that. Hope that helps!
