Do you prefer American Shorthair cats or Tabby cats?

I’ve no idea what American Shorthairs are. Heard the name, that’s all. I love tabbies, the original coat pattern, but then I love cats of all patterns. I’ve never owned any but domestic shorthairs and one domestic medium hair, ie cats of no breed.
