Cat brush

I am trying to find the best type of brush for my kitty. I have a wire brisel brush and she hates it. What type should I try? She doesn't like to be brushed and I think part of the problem is the brush.

Jamie hated being brushed, so I switched to a fine-toothed comb, which he loves. The one brush he likes is the ZoomGroom, provided I finish up with his fine-toothed flea comb or the Furminator (which is a comb rather than a brush).

I had a cat that needed grooming and hated being combed, but he loved a slicker which as someone pointed out to me looks rather like a large-scale model of a cat's tongue.  I can't remember what sort of coat your cat has - mine have very short fine coats and only need stroking!

I have seen ads for grooming gloves. Does anyone have experience with them?

It's blue and is huge on my hand.
