I woke up this morning to find a dead bird in the house, poor thing. And a smattering of feathers strewn about the room. No blood or open wounds on it. I disposed of the bird and vacuumed up the feathers. Do I need to do any additional disinfecting or cleaning of the area?

Thanks for any thoughts on this!

That is probably adequate. Cats kill the birds by either putting them into shock, after which they die, crushing them with their teeth or by tossing them. There is rarely blood, even when they eat them afterward.

Thanks CatMom2Wires, that is helpful info - I also put some Nature's Miracle on the area where the bird had been so I feel like I'm good to go.
