Yesterday, my cat Pig didn't eat a lot. I fed her breakfast today and now she can't keep anything down and doesn't really seem interested in the food. She used to have a similar problem but we switched her to grain free blue buffalo (dry). But one of our cats, Bear, had a UTI so we switched them all go wet. I think Pig has been having diarrhea for a couple of days and now she is not able to keep food down. I gave her some slippery elm paste to soothe her stomach lining followed by 3cc of syringe fed water. She promptly threw up the water but the paste seems to be staying down. She's not looking too hot and I'm a little nervous for her. Our cats have been in and out of the vet office for a while now and funds are significantly decreasing by this point. Also, it is Sunday and an emergency vet visit would require a lot more than just not able to keep food down. The wet food does have wheat gluten in it and I'm wondering if she could be having a problem with that. She also had a UTI a while back and that could also be causing it. I'm keeping her secluded in the kitchen with a litter pan, water, and grain free wet food. This way I can see if she is urinating and having bowel movements. Poor baby. She keeps licking her lips so I know she's still nauseous. And swallowing. Poor baby. She doesn't smell sweet like she is diabetic and is acting quite normally dispite her upset tummy. Obviously I'm going to stop giving her grain food and switch her to the grain free variety.
