Hi everyone. My cat was on a 10-day prednisolone treatment for a skin wound. Her last dosis was last Sunday so she’s been off for a week. By the third day of the treatment, she became really tired and was acting scared. She always ate and uses the litterbox well, though. The vet didn’t mind this too much and told us that as long as she eats, uses the litterbox, moves when she wants, and her skin condition improves, it should be fine.
But it’s been a week and her energies are not fully back yet. She is still sleeping most of the time and does not want to play. We can only get her walking and exercising a bit during feeding times. Can this be a side effect from the prednisolone treatment? Can she still be wearing it off?
We are considering waiting a couple more days before talking to the vey again. My cat used to be a stray, most likely abandoned and previously abused cat. Vet visits are not easy (she needs sedatives) and we have failed several times before to even get her in the carrier. So we try to minimise the visits for her sake.
Any advice would be appreciated
