In an interesting turn of events, my cat, Sneak, who I posted about here a little while ago, may in fact NOT be neutered. A little back story, for anyone interested..
I got him from a friend as a feral 8wk. old kitten. She worked at a vet clinic at the time, and when I picked him up, I was told that he was already neutered. That was in '07.
So he is now almost 5yrs. old, has never sprayed, doesn't "look" intact, nothing. Took him to my regular vet for another urinalysis on Tuesday, and they called Wednesday and told me there was sperm in his urine
They said they'd have them retest it, because of how weird that sounded.. called me back today and yup, sperm still there! So they called my friend I got him from, who is now saying that he WASN'T neutered..
Weird part is, he had a UTI back in January when I was still with the vet said friend works at, got a urinalysis there, and they never said anything about sperm being present..
So anyway, now that I'm completely baffled, I'm wondering if being a cryptorchid can cause UTI's? That is what he has now, no crystals present at all. We're going to recheck his urine in 10 days once he's finished this round of antibiotics, and my vet will feel around to see if he can feel anything there. If it comes back positive for sperm again, obviously, I will have him neutered. Just curious if anyone else has has a cryptorchid male that had UTI's?
