Cammy puked yesterday a few times. We watched her last night and she didn't eat or drink and by this morning she was very lethargic. I was up half the night worrying about her and petting her. She slept at the end of the bed most of the day. I was worried her intestines were clenched together again, causing an obstruction.
We brought her to the vet this morning. She had a fever and her tummy was very tender. They wanted to keep her for x-rays. They called me about an hour after we left, and no obstruction! But she did have a lot of gas, which isn't normal. They are giving her anti-nausea injections, and if she isn't feeling better by Monday they are going to talk about an anti-bariam. She didn't think it was necessary at this point though. I didn't ask what that was, I just figured if she needed it I'd find out.
I did ask what the treatment would be if her intestines were clenched again. She said if it happened repeatedly, it would most likely be irritable bowels. Which could easily be treated with a monthly cortisone shot. She that was a huge relief. I was afraid if it was a chronic thing we'd have to talk about putting her to sleep or something, and I can't do without my Cammy!
So poor Abbey is an only kitty for a while. She doesn't seem too disturbed.
Jon and I are just very sad when one of them are away.
