OK, I've known that Montana is actually the 4th most seismically active State in the US, but until tonight I'd never understood why.
At approx 10:09 pm MST, a 5.6 quake was reported about 90 miles from me (if that - I'll have to check the map for the overland distance) Which means there was a WHOLE lotta shakin goin on here!! I was in the basement bathtub at the time, and watched the door shake on the hinges, and my necklace sway on its hook. It really is an odd feeling, the earth moving under your backside!!
I really didn't notice any odd behavior from the kits or Cinnamon, but they were all outside the bathroom for once! Read more here: http://http://earthquake.usgs.gov/recenteqsww/Quakes/usazad.htm
Actually the first quake I felt was when I was living in TN, the epicenter was in Southern IN - Jan? (gemlady) probably remembers it. If I hadn't been sitting still, I never would have known it had happened. But this one has reportedly shifted a few modular homes off their foundations and rattled some dishes - maybe even mine, but I wasn't where I could hear 'em!!
Anyone else been thru a really good tremblor?????
