This week we finally put our white easy chair out with the trash. It was with a heavy heart because I can still remember exactly how proud my dad (who passed away in 2002) was when he bought me the thing when I moved out. In my small room at university I didn't have enough room for a couch but this way I could still sit comfortably and the chair could even hold two people if I had company.
The cats always really enjoyed this chair too, but it had gotten too rundown and getting it upholstered was too expensive for us.
I just wanted to make a fototopic to show how much the cats enjoyed it over the years.
Look how new it still was when dEUS and Flynn were kittens:
It was big enough fot three kitties to cuddle, groom and sleep:
When you sat in the chair there was enough room for a kitty to cuddle up next to you:
I could take nice pictures when the cats sat relaxing there:
Typical dEUS, not being able to choose whether to sit with Ernesto in the chair or to join Flynn in the hammock. He decided to try both.
Our friends for life (dEUS and Flynn were born three weeks apart and their mothers cared for the two litters together. Out of all the kittens dEUS and Flynn played together the most) :
Just hanging out:
I was amazed Flynn managed not to fall off
dEUS likes boxes and loved to sleep in the chair, so when I accidentally left a box lying around on the chair he knew what to do
Every now and then Mimosa would sleep on the chair too, but only on the top
Those two again:
When it was really hot dEUS liked to sleep on a cool shelf in the bookcase, but an armrest of the chair would still make a good pillow:
dEUS almost slid of the chair but Flynn held on to him so he could continue washing him.
Oh oh oh it was such a comfy chair !
Our foster kitten Black also liked sleeping in the chair with his foster daddy Flynn:
Last year we briefly moved the chair from the study to the living room but it didn't work for us. The cats liked it though:
Back in the study, Ernesto and Flynn enjoying the sun together. it was one of the best spots to catch some rays.
