I took her to the vet . He gave her some antibiotics for 2 weeks.
Her behind is also red and swollen.
She has small bumps all over and her skin is peeling in large pieces.
I did change some of her food. I couldn't get the same kind at Pet Value and got different one.
She didn't seem to like it. So I went to the vet and got some there. She doesn't like much either.
The food I give her is dental and weight control from the vet.
I am wondering if this is what's causing her allergy.
I also bought a grooming glove.
I wonder about that too.
I quit using this glove and quit weight control food. This is the one she doesn't like.
Its sad watching her scratch..
Hope someone out there know why this is happening.
3 days of antibiotic hasn't changed anything yet.
Thanks
My Mila

It does sound like some kind of allergy and it can be so difficult to figure out what is  causing it.  Has anything in your home changed, a different cleaning or laundry product, air freshner, new furniture?

I would also try a different litter.  It usually only causes a rash on the lower legs belly and behind but it might be worth a try.

For food does your kitty eat wet food?  If so I would try a simple food in a protein that your kitty hasn't eaten before.  By simple food I mean as close to meat, liver and necessary supplements that you can find and afford.  Some of the foods can get pretty pricey so what you can afford.

That looks pretty rough on the poor kitty.

How is she today.  Give the medicine a chance to work.  Did the vet say how long it would be before you saw improvement.

Besides the new grooming gloves, have you changed any cleaning products in the home?

If the grooming gloves have a latex base plastic it's possible...

I hope you see changes soon.

Mila is doing better after taking antibiotic for 2 weeks.
Still has flaky skin and is itchy.
The vet gave me some omega 3 . I am using it but I noticed her stool were watery.
I think I will quit for awhile.
I changed her kitty litter to a non perfume litter.
She is using it ok.
I tried to take her back to the vet last Saturday but she wouldn't get in the carrier.
I bought some waterless cat batch from VET'S BEST
I will try using it. She does not like me to put some of this spray on her.
Thank you for asking.
If you have other suggestions please let me know..

I'm glad she's doing a little better.

The meds could be changing her stool, so that may change once she's off.

I had changed litter for my kitties (who are angels now) to non perfume.  I found they made it stronger and the scoopable was really clay like and so sticky.

Please keep us posted.

Feel free to post pictures.  We love pictures. LOL

Warm regards - Hope

I agree with 2Cats4EverLoved.  Let her immune system build back up after the antibiotics; they kill off good bacteria as well as the bacterial bad guys.  The only thing that might speed that process would be offering her some probiotics.  Otherwise, you've made a lot of changes in a hurry.  I'd let everything settle down a bit and see how she does.

May be probiotic would be more help than omega 3?

Omega 3 should help with the flaky skin, but if your cat is having watery stools, then I would wait to introduce it later when her system settles a bit.  A probiotic will help to rebuild the healthy gut bacteria faster.  It's not either Omega or probiotic, but two separate products for separate issues.
