bump on cat's skin

My cat has a bump on his skin on the back of his head behind his ear. I think it's been there for more than a month or two. I think it's skin and not under the skin because it feels almost a little rough the skin there. Anyone experience this? It's been there for months so it is not a tick. His health is good and he doesn't mind me touching it too much.

Could it be a skin tag? Like what humans get... My guy has one also. It is continuous with the skin, not hanging beneath the skin, and feels like a pimple...

Yeah, it feels like a boil-sized thing. I just heistate taking him to the vet  because they are such rip=offs nowadays.

Can you post a picture ?  That would give an idea of the size. etc.
