My sisters cat is pregnant and I noticed that she has a bubble on her tummy that you can push in...its sticks out about a cm. she had the same thing when she had her other litter. What is this?

An umbilical hernia is more likely. Again, though, it's easily repaired during a spay. If the cat is old enough repair might not be necessary. My 9-year-old cat has one and the vet said that because it's hard and can't be pushed in, it doesn't need to be repaired. (But yes, she is spayed!)Originally Posted by sweetiecat3
Are you sure?
My cat, Sweetie, has the same thing and the vet says it's just a harmless cist of fat. Do you think it could possibly be that?
Is this the cat's second litter??Originally Posted by xpiercedgoddess

xpiercedgoddess...cats can get pregnant again about a week after giving birth. Given her previous escape, I would keep her in a place where she definately cannot get out and have her spayed when the kittens are 6 to 8 weeks of age.Originally Posted by xpiercedgoddess
Anyway, she is getting fixed after the ktitens are born, my dad said either that or shes gone. He doesnt like her getting pregnant all the time. We are trying to keep her in but not long after her kittens were given away, she slipped out through a window in the garage and when she finally came in, there were about 5 male kitties sitting on our front lawn. I didnt even know we HAD kitties around our house! I guess that one time she got outside was really what did it...grr
You can....however, you need to be prepared to bottle feed the kittens while mom is away being spayed. That is why it is often recommended to wait until they have been weaned.Originally Posted by xpiercedgoddess

If you are worried about her getting out..then I would get her spayed as soon as possible. I would contact your vet and see how long the spay would take...in the meantime, keep her and the babies in a place where she could not get outside.Originally Posted by xpiercedgoddess
