Hi there! Pictured is my two-year-old and our stray love, Thomas O'Malley (Tommy). Tommy has lived at our apartment complex for quite some time, and a nice older lady used to feed him every day. When she moved away, I gladly took over the feeding duties. It took just a few days for Tommy to trust me, but now he is part of the family.
We are buying a home about 30 minutes away and we plan to take Tommy with us and have him join our 3 indoor cats. For the last year, Tommy and our cats have been acquainted through the bottom of the door, which is not properly sealed, which means they smell each other through the door all the time, and they're all used to him by now. I'm not at all worried about how he will get on with our cats, though he is a bit hesitant to come inside.
My only concern is that Tommy has fleas. I'm trying to figure out the best way to bring him in without exposing the other cats (and the house) to the fleas. I do have a pack of Revolution which I'm sure will be pretty easy to administer. He'll obviously need a bath, too.
Any suggestions as to how I should go about all of this? We are moving in about a week and I just cannot imagine leaving Tommy behind. He's just too sweet and loving!
