Did you ever feel like you just need to get the heck out of the office? Today is one of those days for me, so when lunch got here,
I was gone.....windows rolled down and radio on!
Took a drive to the bank, deposited my pay, and then headed out to the country..........I saw some wonderful sights. Only wish I had my camera to show you
........the one thing that really pulled at my heart strings was a colt suckling from his mother underneath a beautiful tree in a field. I actually got a tear in my eye.
(I'm such a cry baby) After I got my fill of that, I moved on to a section of road that crossed over a creek. I saw this family of ducks. The babies looked to be about teenager age...........but they all dutifully followed their parents along the waters edge.
I moved on up the road and saw some beautiful old homes....some in need of repair, some just gorgeous. How I would love to get my hands on the owners and fix them up.........although some of them looked haunted....
Oh, if only walls could talk......
I kept going till I came to a 4 way stop, then decided I'd better go back the way I came so I didn't get lost!
On the way back, I saw a mom and two little girls setting up a lemonade stand at the end of their driveway. It was out in the boonies. Not sure how much business they'll do, but I stopped and got a cup. (they also were selling oreos, so I of course HAD to buy 2) (Hey, you gotta help out small business any way you can, right? It was my sacrafice)
It was a wonderful way to spend my time and I'm so glad I went. I'm a city girl but have a country heart.
Now I sit here back in the office. I just want to run back out to the country sooooooooooo bad!!! 2 hours and 40 minutes to go..........
