My grandma is chronically sick, and had her first bypass when she was thirty five. In recent years, she goes almost every winter for a stint, bypass or some other operation. This past summer, they found an anuerysm on her Aorta. Considering her location, though, they thought it best to merely monitor it. This past week they took a look at it and decided it was bad enough now that the risks for the removal during surgery were about equal to the risks of of leaving it be. This afternoon she went in for a consultation and a sonogram type thing. She just called me and told me that it appears to be the size of a small apple now (granted my grandma is a hypochondriact and does exxagerate, however, I'm sure it is still rather large)They should be finished running tests tomorrow and then will procede to operate.
The family has gotten a bit used to her illnesses, and we joke and call them her 'yearly tune up', But they have never been this bad before. And for the first time, I'm actually worried and concerned. So, would you all please send some prayers, good vibes, and thoughts to my grandma and our family for these few days of prep work and then the surgery. Thanks.
