I am still just numb. I took Blue in for his senior cat blood work today to re-check his thyroid issues. He has a place on his neck that has been there for over a year and it itches him off and on. Today it was itching him and I remembered to ask the vet to look at it (I tend to forget it is there and it is just skin colored when he isn't scratching it). Well, my vet did a shave and it has mass cells. It is cancer. I guess that explains the weakened immune system, losing weight despite the methimazole, and such.
So...the "plan" is to get all the blood work back and if nothing is completely off the charts bad, Dr. wants to remove the skin cancers. First, though, he is going to do x-rays to make sure it hasn't spread. I just PRAY it hasn't.
It has been a rough month with regard to cats.
Like I said, I am just...numb.
