I found this next to the litter box. I've seen the occasional blood on my cat's stools, but the two vets I saw weren't too concerned by it. (One tried to give me some Royal Canin food, the other gave her a steroid shot and said I should try changing her diet, which I did.) This is the first glob like this I've found (though there was one tiny maybe blood spot on the couch). She was also tested for parasites (maybe just giardia, the vet wasn't very clear on what exactly she was testing), that was negative. I was just assuming she had IBD, but after reading some other posts on here I'm worried it might be coccidia? Can they look the same? How would I know the difference?
Other background: the glob had no poopy smell, though was a little ammonia-y. No gross scent gland smell. When I took her to the vets they checked her scent gland, so I don't think it's coming from there. She does seem to be straining when she poops. Her poop either makes little cornflake sized chunks in the litter or is a small piece of poop shaped poop. Chicken based wet food diet for about two months (switched from fish based dry). Intermittent vomiting and diarrhea since January. Blood tests show slightly elevated creatinine and high eosinophils.
I don't know what I should do next. I don't have the money to see the vet again and get the same tests done just to be recommended a prescription diet.
