Hi All,
I recently took in a foster cat that was headed for death row and had him neutered on Wed. He seems to be in general good health but the vet said they when they expressed his bladder prior to the procedure, they noticed a little bit of blood. They said that it could have been caused by stress or possibly a small blood vessel was broken with the pressure.
Well, all was fine until this morning when I went to scoop the litter and I could tell there was some blood in the urine. He seems perfectly fine otherwise - he plays, eats, drinks, purrs, etc.
Has anyone had something like this happen before? I'm wondering if the neutering caused a UTI or provoked one that was beginning. I asked the former guardian if he had ever seen blood in the urine and he said "never". The kitty is about 7 months old.
Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!
