Binks came to us about two years ago as a stray who hung around for a while, loosely. Binks is pretty much normal although he is a bit hyperactive, if such a thing exists in cats. He isn't wild, more like he has extra energy, although he is still a young cat and subject to high energy...the vet isn't concerned at all, so I'm not stressed but he has some unusual behavior.
Binks was fixed when he showed up, so he must have been with a family at some point...I don't think there are any trap n spay programs in the area as it is very rural and feral colonies are few and far between. He was well socialized and he setteled in quickly and now rules the couch. During the night, I will often find Binks dragging around pieces of my wife or daughters undergarments and dresses. I have also seen him dragging them around and also "humping" them to some degree. He is fixed so there is nothing unusual down there and the vet said that it sometimes happens if they are fixed late, or sometimes they just do it, like cats are prone to do! After dragging the clothing around, I frequently find it partially in the dry food bowl. I don't know if it is some sort of instinct...I can see the food bowl as a present to me...like being given a mouse by your proud cat, but I can't figure out the humping behavior as it isn't typical mating behavior...more like walking around, dragging this between his legs and giving his particular vocalization like when he is antsy (remember the reference to being hyperactive?).
Binks seems to prefer my daughter's bras and dresses, while he prefers my wife's swimming attire and nightgowns. He doesn't seem to have much interest in my stuff, so it must be something about the female smell that he seems to like. Binks doesn't show any aggression to anyone, including other family cats, male and female. He plays well and seems like a great cat in every other aspect (although he got hit by a car about 18 months ago, but totally recovered). I'm making jokes about changing his name to Bruce, since he seems a bit confused about his sexuality...does anyone else have a cat with this type of behavior?
