Is it normal to have an eight month old male kitten weigh in at 13+ pounds? He is medium haired and might be a Maine coon. He does NOT appear to be overweight.

Maine Coon males can get pretty big. Try comparing him with one of these diagrams:

If body condition is good, just a big boy. My boy was 10 pounds by 6 months old and is now 17 to 18 pounds (granted my boy needs to loose 1-2 pounds).

Depends on the cat. However, my Maine coon mix was healthy at 17lbs.
