Hi all
We have 3 Bengal cats (we did have 4 but unfortunately one passed away last week due to cancer). But that's another story.
Anyhoo...... the cats have always been indoor beasties. They have 24/7 access to a cat run in the back garden which is quite large and has logs for them to climb on/things to hide under and sit on etc. However every now and then, we have an escapee out the front of the house.
One of our boys managed (we think) to squeeze his way out of a window last Sunday ( the 10th Aug). He was probably only out for about 30 minutes before our next door neighbours tapped on the door to let us know the little beggar was in their front garden! He was promptly retrieved.
The HUGE issue is that now, for over a week, he has been screaming to go out the front of the house, whether it be by the windows or the door. The noise is constant and amazingly loud, a full-throated "WAOW, WAOW, WAOW, WAOW, WAOW". He almost doesn't stop for breath and if he were a person he wouldn't be able to speak by now, his throat would be raw. It sounds like a fire alarm going off; Lord only knows what the neighbours think we are doing to him. He's so loud you can hear him where we park the car which is a good 200 yards away from the house. We cannot stop him; we've tapped him on the nose, sprayed him with water, hissed at him (usually works), firmly said NO, firmly shouted NO, flapped towels at him and in my case this morning, chased him upstairs with a tea-towel. Once he got to the top, he just started up again.
If this had only started AFTER Blade passed away last Thursday I would have put it down to that and hoped that after a few days Naboo would run out of steam. But it started 4 days before Blade crossed the bridge.
Does anyone have any advice at all on what we can do to try and get him to stop??? Other than letting him out, which is a definite no!
I am at my wits' end (not that I had many to start with).
cheers!
