Anyone know about beekeeping for honey and what would we need?

Talk to your local extension agent. Around here, they're trying to encourage people to keep bees so they have free information and some assistance for supplies. There might be something similar in your area.

Hmm, I guess I never thought about what agency an extension agent is affiliated with! :lol3: The one here is located at the 4H grounds, another town has it at the USDA office, another one has it at the courthouse. If you look in your phone book under "extension office" (or Google it with your city/state) I think you'll find it.

I hope you find what you need to get started. Honey is always on my shelf. I use it for so many things. Most of the time, friends bring it to me from the mountains, but I would buy local if there were any beekeepers. :nod:
